The Chris Abraham Show is recorded by and published on Spotify for Creators, formerly Anchor. The first episode went out on June 12, 2019.

How the Show Is Made

Chris records on a Sony ICD-UX570 digital voice recorder and edits in Audacity. When a recording has too much background noise, it goes through Adobe Podcast Enhance first. The video episodes, and the occasional over-the-top "Deep Dive," come from running an episode through Google NotebookLM.

Credits

The intro and outro music was made by blarock on Fiverr. The cover art, which is also this site's banner and icon, was designed by brandzin on Fiverr. Thank you both.

This Website

This site is a static mirror of the show's podcast feed. A small Python script reads the feed, keeps a copy of each episode's artwork and transcript, and writes one plain HTML page per episode. A GitHub Action runs it every day, so new episodes and late transcripts appear on their own. It is published by GitHub Pages; the source is at github.com/chrisabraham/thechrisabrahamshow.

Audio

The audio stays on Spotify. Each player streams the episode straight from the feed, and Spotify remains the show's home.

Transcripts

Transcripts are generated by Spotify. They are machine made, so names and odd words are sometimes wrong.

Design

The layout is borrowed from Hill Mole, Chris's serialized novel: a white column as wide as the 700-pixel banner, on a grey page, with grey links. Unlike Hill Mole, the headings keep their capitals. The button in the banner switches to a dark reading mode, and that choice is kept only in your own browser.
